Magnetic surveys are valuable tools in locating a wide variety of ferrous items
to great depths. Magnetometry is a cost effective technique to locate items such
as pipes, underground storage tanks, barrels, UXO, and other ferrous items. The
TM-6 is manufactured by GAP Geophysics Australia Pty Limited (GAP), and is designed
to be used as a stand alone magnetometer or in conjunction with the Sub Audio Magnetics
technique and is capable of sampling four sensors up to 9600 times a second. This
high rate of sampling allows for increased production rates as well as 50/60 Hz
power line or other high frequency noise rejection. The TM-6 has been used to map
storm sewers to depths over 25 feet.

The TM-6 interfaces with industry standard RTK DGPS systems to provide accurate
positioning of the items of interest. The operating system provides the user with
real time data quality information on sensor data, positional data, and other status
information. Two TM-6 units can also be combined and synchronized through precise
DGPS timing to operate on an eight sensor towed array system. ARM has a strategic
alliance with GAP and is the sole provider of GAP technologies in the US.
